Visitors to the Pocono Mountains this October are sure to enjoy a variety of spooky events for the whole family.
Every Friday and Saturday during October families can visit Jim Thorpe to take advantage of the Rotary Ghost Walk , a one-mile, one-hour walking tour around Jim Thorpe's historic district with a costumed storyteller as their guide. The tour leaves from the lobby of The Inn at Jim Thorpe and is $8 per person.
Families are sure to love Haunted Halloween Wagon Rides at Sugar Mountain Carriages in Bushkill. During the evening hours of the last two weekends in October, visitors can climb into a wagon pulled by teams of horses through the dark spooky woods or take guided walks. Wagon rides for the whole family are also available.
Visitors can have a ghoulishly good time as the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual Palmerton Halloween Parade starting on Delaware Avenue. Families can also go to Main Street in Stroudsburg for the annual Halloween Parade Extravaganza and costume contest. All are encouraged to don their best costumes during this event.
The Pocono Environmental Education Center in Dingmans Ferry will be hosting their PEEC-A-Boo Halloween Trail. Families will follow their guide through a fun Halloween trail and learn all about the creatures of the night, then listen to a story around the campfire. The Halloween Trail reservations are required.
For kids of all ages, the Stourbridge Line Rail Excursion in Honesdale holds their Halloween Fun two-hour train ride. All are invited to join in the fun and wear their Halloween finest. Boarding time is 1pm. Price is $15 per person. Visitors can also mark their calendar for the annual
